Air conditioning solutions for trucks and motorhomes

Roof air conditioning for caravans, motorhomes and trucks

We usually fit a roof air conditioner in the opening of an existing roof vent. Many units for caravans and motorhomes fit a standard 40 × 40 cm roof vent opening, and some also fit 36 × 36 cm. In that case, no extra hole in the roof is needed. Inside, an air distribution box spreads the air evenly through the living space.

Caravans and motorhomes

  • The unit runs on 230 volts, for example from the campsite hook-up. A soft-start function lets it start reliably on campsites with a low-rated fuse.
  • Many models have a heat pump or auxiliary heating, so you can also heat in spring and autumn.
  • Units range from about 1.7 to 3.6 kW, for motorhomes and caravans up to about 10 metres long. We choose the output that suits the size of your vehicle.
  • A roof air conditioner weighs about 30 to 50 kg. We check the roof thickness and construction beforehand and fit the unit watertight.

Trucks

  • A parking cooler runs on the truck's 24-volt battery, so the cab stays cool with the engine off, for example during rest periods.
  • The unit is fitted in the existing roof hatch. Vehicle-specific installation kits are available for most common trucks.
  • Undervoltage protection switches the air conditioning off in time, so there is always enough power left to start the engine.
  • Low-profile units are only about 16 cm high and also suit high cabs.

We advise you on the right unit for your vehicle and how you use it, and take care of the complete installation, including the electrical connection.

Installation kits and accessories

  • Vehicle-specific installation kits for a neat, standard installation
  • Condensers, control panels and air ducts to tailor the system to your needs
